Day 4 of our Making More Health Insights Week in India – Experiencing Sustainable Impact and Understanding Vulnerable Communities

A Toda priest and temple

Today we continued our journey to explore social impact, sustainability, and innovation in some of India’s most vulnerable communities.

We had the incredible opportunity to visit the Todas tribe, an indigenous community with a rich cultural heritage and unique way of life. Learning about their traditions, challenges, and sustainable practices gave us a new perspective on resilience and the importance of preserving cultural identity while embracing change.

We also visited a tea factory, where we witnessed firsthand the complexities of tea production—from plucking leaves to the final packaging process. This visit highlighted not only the craftsmanship behind every cup of tea but also the economic and social realities of those working in the industry.

For leaders from Western countries, immersing ourselves in these environments is more than just a learning experience—it’s a mindset shift. It challenges us to see the world differently, to approach problems with a broader perspective, and to rethink how businesses can drive social impact.

When we step outside our comfort zones, we don’t just witness change—we become part of it.
