A hospital should be most of all a care and treatment center for patients. However, it should be a safe place even for the visitors, too. And giving space to relax. Especially also in cases when children come for visits, too.
In many cultures friends and relatives visit the patients frequently and sit many hours close to them together with children who after a while might feel the need to move. For them is not the best place to make them play inside the hospital.
In times of Covid-19, also many people reach out to the hospital to get their vaccination shots. Why bringing the children inside if there are opportunities like a playground for children outside?
At the Government tribal speciality hospital ,Attapadi’, Kotthatara we have installed a few years ago a nice playground.
It’s a very relaxing place – with a lot of green, benches, and space to run and walk.
„When I went for the second vaccination shot, I saw children swinging in our children garden. They were playing while their parents stayed inside and obviously they enjoyed,“ tells me Shibu, one of our local social workers and partners.
It’s great to see the good condition of the playground and the playing children there!
